There will be no comics this week. However, there will be comics next week. I could've gotten one done over the weekend for today, but I decided to take a bit more time off first and perhaps even get a teensy bit ahead. So, fnord.

We spent the last half-hour or so today (and the last hour for Chad since he took an hour lunch and was logging out later than usual) doing pretty much nothing. We were actually supposed to be checking the site to see how many documents have been scanned and indexed since they started doing this stuff, but the system was giving us REALLY screwy numbers so we gave up... we were searching by week except first and last day of each month because you couldn't wrap a search around a month or you'd get an error, and somehow we apparently managed to do 20,000+ docs on May 1st, 2,000+ on May 2nd and third combined, 10,100 the next week, and so forth and so on... until May 31st, which was over 22,000. Steve calculated that if 50 documents were scanned and indexed per minute -- 50 pages run through scanner, visually verified, re-clipped, passed to indexer, and then 50 SSNs typed and verified -- every minute, for eight hours... you'd still only get 20,000 a day. And the people who have the packets of fifty one-page documents don't even come in more than maybe four hours a week. So, um, yeah. Something was wrong somewhere.

So I drew comicage on company time. La la la.

Also, I have a correction. It isn't pornidge anymore, it's pournage (see subject line). They decided to change the pronounciation. It sounds like this now. Fnord.
