Yep, just what I wanted to deal with today.

Who needs self-confidence? NOT ME!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I know it causes you physical pain and severe mental anguish simply to have to look at me. Do you have to rub it in like that?

I say we should go over there and sit on them. :)

I'm overweight myself (320) over the past 6 months i've lost 40 lbs.

Will i ever not be fat? No

I can feel how big my bones are. My skeleton will have bigger arms then some people. thats the way life is.

But they are right in one point. The lawsuit is just silly.

"Don't make fun of fat people--they have an illness. Just like alcoholics, they are sick."

Normally I'd be quick to jump in and comfort you, but you can't really take this sort of garbage seriously. Overweight people are overweight... it's simple as that. Some are trouble by it, others aren't. Only a problem if it's made out to be one.

Heh... and saying it's some sort of mental illness doesn't really make anybody take this guy's opinion into high regard, not anybody intelligent anyway =)

::wolverines intervene by devouring assorted foodstuffs and the odd wallpaper hanging, hug the Jenny, and wander off to maul assorted tactless individuals with a variety of condiments::

And comments about "mental illness" are another kettle of fish entirely (though to some extent probably something which is more worthy of concern and consideration than other's unfounded opinions of one's appearance, though that can lead to a certain amount of brooding itself, which leads one to wonder to what extent mental problems are the result of not merely external factors and incidents internal thought processes, and whether the super-ego is repressing the id, and...

Doesn't especially please me, fwiw, that one obtuse (though I guess not the most obtuse) comment in that thread, is from someone in the intersection of my friends and friend-of lists. Someone I knew back in college, actually.

Grrrr..

Sic 'im, Cleo.

THOSE PEOPLE MAKE ME SICK

This is what I said....

Do not hate the fat. Do not mistreat and certainly do not make fun of the fat. But don't let them off the hook-- they are sick. They have an illness. They are alchoholics and need an intervention, not a hug.

That was extremely offensive to me. Yes, I'm fat, but I do eat right (and 3 times a day, not 202028497293874981234 like some of you like to think), work out, and play sports. I am NOT sick, and I do NOT want your pity.

Alcoholics are addicted to a substance that is deadly. Obsese people are just obese. Sure, some of them have an unhealthy attachment to food, but not all of us do. Some of us are just born with more fat cells than others. Should you toss me into a 30 day rehab program for that? I'd like to see it happen. Tell you what, next time you see a fat person walk down the street and you're offended by it, try and look the other way. Good day.

I've been getting shit for my weight since I was a child. I am used to people being assholes about it, but it still pisses me off! Ugh, I just want to strangle someone! >:( It's so easy to pick on us, is the problem. Dumbass twigs need to get sat on. >:(

I'm not sure what this accomplished, but it sure amused the heck out of me.
