Back and forth and back and forth. I'll have to check, but I think that I walk about two miles every day what with the going to class and going to work and stuff. OH MY POOR POOR FEET

Fortunately tomorrow I only have one long walk, that being from work to the bus to go HOME. Yay.

At work today Steve decided that the reason I spent a week at John's is because John and I are, in fact, not friends, but FRIENDS. You know, "friends". This amused me ever so. YES, WE DID ALL SORTS OF NAUGHTY, NAUGHTY THINGS... LIKE... REWRITE CHINESE TV TO BE ABOUT GIANT TURNIPS

Two of my classes have weekly lab things in a Mac lab. This annoys me. Not only can I not visit SocialMUX while in lab (unless x.n ssh page works, I'll have to check), but the mice are... well... weird Mac mice. Entire top of mouse is one giant button. ENTIRE TOP. Guess who has a VERY heavy mouse hand and tends to lean her hand on the mouse? Oy. MISCLICKS AHOY POKEY

Also, I bought volumes 2 and 3 of Chobits manga at bookstore today. BAD Jenny. Now I owe mom even more money! But at least I now own every volume of Chobits that's currently available in this country, at least until volume 4 hits the street next week.

Macs are good! Are they running OS X? (You can tell by the extra-lickable candy buttons, which are shiny and blue.) If so, go to /Applications/Utilities/Terminal and presto! You're in UNIX-land, where telnet abounds, and the toes roam free.

As for the mice, any USB mouse will do, if you have them lying around. Plus that way you get shinies like wheelmousing and the right mouse button instead of ctrl-clicking everything.

I mean, there's all that gossip about whose giant turnip it is, where it came from, and then there's the rampant speculation and rumor-mongering and eventually you have people trying to compute the growing season, accounting for local rainfall last year and hoping against hope that it isn't somehow their responsibility. Really just best to get it out in the open now.

Interestingly enough, Giant Turnips can learn a variety of languages.

They seem to have a genetic memory for chinese as well, but only in the form of stilted, melodramatic soap opera dialogue.

Thus, you sometimes have to translate their moods a bit. "I am doomed! Doomed! DOOMED!" might indicate that the sun has gone behind a cloud and the turnip is unhappy about such.

Generally, it's like dealing with a teenager. They grow out of it eventually.

I shall teach little Mecha Junior the finer points of Latin. It will help us while away the long, cold nights WHEN YOU ARE RUNNING AROUND ON YOUR OWN, ABANDONING YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES.
