I just downloaded four copies of that damn W32.Sircam.Worm@mm worm. I do NOT like waiting five minutes for my mail to download only to find out that it's ALL worms! And three from the same guy! Sheesh, his computer must be very wormy. I got one from him yesterday, too.
So what did I do? I wrote the fellows back. No, I didn't get mad at them. I know that, barring the incredible coincidence that they'd be one of the few people who started this thing going in the first place, they are innocent victims. So I tried to keep my prose as friendly and helpful as I could, and directed them to the fix Symantec has up. Downloaded and ran that the other day out of boredom... I came up clean, of course. I know enough not to open mystery files with mystery extensions from mystery people.
Hopefully these fellows will read my replies to them, and believe me, and clean out their worm infestations. They'll have cleaner machines, there'll be two fewer people spreading the worm, and there'll be two fewer people sending it to me!

I got it 3 times so far.....and the first time, it got me!...but thank goodness I fixed it
