Heh.

Me, two minutes ago, in conversation with my brother: "The new one takes place in a fantasy future world and is therefore exempt from all vestiges of... um... yeah."

We were some reason debating whether the latest Spider-Man animated series had anything to do with the established canon of Spider-Man ness. I was trying to sound smart, and ran out of steam halfway through, as I so often do. I bet Jaqk would've done way better in my place, but then, I don't have his mad pontificating skillz.

New Spiderman?

*aruhhHHHH?*

Apparently it takes place in a world where animals have been genetically spliced with humans, so they walk and talk (and have Slavic accents in some cases), and the humans themselves have become second-class citizens.

My biggest gripe with it is that Spidey wears a cape. A CAPE. He DEPENDS on his agility and his aerodynamic efficiency to NOT FREAKING DIE, so he puts on A CAPE! ...I'm okay. No, really.

Spidey with a cape *shakes head*
First they give him an alien suit which takes over his body, turning him into Venom (I have both number ones of that BTW) and then there was some big demonic Spidey somewhere (if memory serves me correct, which it often deos NOT)

Don't worry, I share in your Spidey sadness...actually, the thought of him with a cape, reminds me of Spawn...tsk tsk (I have that number one also)

Comics geek! *points and laughs*

Err... I mean... hi.

I was 16 when I bought them. I realize that they will have MASSIVE value when time passes. But I haven't bought anythign since 1993....you were probably just getting into Junior High back then :p

Ah, shut up, gramps. ;P

"Mad pontificating skillz" must be one of the best phrases I've heard in a long time.

Pah, the new Spiderman show is not for me. I perfer the classic one: That one from '95 that was all plotty and such. Yeah, those were the days...

I LOVED that one! They even gave it an awesome, SENSE-MAKING ending rather than just killing it off!

Supposedly (according to my brother) this one takes place in the universe of one of the alternate Spideys from the finale of the old show. All I know is that, while it looks rather fascinatingly like an actual comic book (captions in Comic Sans MS font and all), I do not like it.

Sense-making? That was a great challenge you faced. Now let's go find Mary Jane! And then it ends. Really should have been on for another season, methinks.

I haven't actually seen Unlimited myself, though I've heard bad things. Any greater depth into which you could go, so that I may look brilliant telling it to others? Wow, that sentence made no sense.

You have to admit it was a much better ending than a lot of animated shows get.

And considering I've seen maybe fifteen minutes of this new thingy, all told, I'm afraid I can't give you any more details. If'n you wanna appear brilliant, you'll just have to watch it yourself.
