There is plainly little point in disabling comments, since nobody respects the implication anyway.

Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

Since some other people close comments on a post (or on their journals) in order to close comments on that post/journal;

since they even make it clearer by action that they don't mean that the discussion is closed, but that they just want to, say, take it elsewhere (for example);

you can only make it clear by... making it clear. In my present mood I feel like saying more but that signifies, conveys.

It just seems fairly logical to me that if someone has made the conscious effort to remove the ability to comment, they must not want comments.

You have me there.
(And since I now notice that receiving these comment notifies is breaking my Gmail, either because of Gmail itself, because of my Mac, because of your choice of a journal title, because of what's behind door #4, or some combination... I withdraw the suggestion.)

I didn't ask you, but I wonder if it would be all right to ask a question? I always soak my pots and pans with water for a while before actually washing them, because it breaks the grease up and makes it more clean. Why is it bad to do this? Even in commercials for dishwashing liquids it shows meaty dishes soaking, and it shows the grease being dissolved due to their magical soaps.

I don't know, really, it always made sense to me to do it, but I have had it impressed upon me that I must Never Ever Do It Again and so I won't. Because it is Bad.

Sometimes you just have to agree even if you don't understand why, so you don't get yelled at anymore.

I think the problem is whether the water stays in the pot, or you let it overflow and fill the entire sink with its meaty rancidness. I always fill the pot with water and have never had a problem.

Does that mean I get to rant about my boyfriend's habit of plunging very dirty dishes straight into the washing-up water without even making an effort to dump the big bits of gack in the bin now?

Yes, but you have to pay the Rant Toll of one coconut.
