Also, does it have anything to do with Evangelion, as the one banner I saw for it on some foreign site (the one that once hosted the video of the French guy with the horn suit) led me to believe?

It takes place thousands of years in the future in a faraway quadrant of the galaxy after people colonized it through a wormhole which then collapsed and cut it off from Earth which now nobody even knows if it really ever existed or where it might be. So it has about as much to do with Eva as with anything else.

Fun fact: with one of the races, there are literally NO outfits of the female variety that do not bare massive cleavage.
