Apparently there's this big craze thingy going on where people (mainly women from what I've seen, although I don't claim that my experiences have anything to do with reality by any means) use these cutesy little images called dolls (or dollz) as avatars on message boards and stuff. And darnit, I tried to resist, but in the end the allure of playing paper dolls without the paper was just too much for me.

Of course, I had to edit my doll quite a bit to make her properly represent me.



On the left is the original that I screenshotted after putting her together off the pieces available here. On the right is what I had after I'd done some editing and some colorchanging. Plus I had to add glasses.

I suppose I'll actually slap doll-me into some kind of avatar status somewhere or other fairly soon. Or not. I just felt like making her.

Just a day or two, at least in my case. Annoying (especially when you have to keep snapping your head forward to yank the thing out of your breathing passages) but not terribly life-threatening.

A couple links near the top of the page lead to the couples dollmaker, which has a few guy pieces. Not many at all, though. And most of the dollmakers I checked DIDN'T have any guy pieces. You're right, it is unfair... everyone should be able to play paperless paper dolls, darnit!

I do realize the limitations of dollmakers (the more variations you throw in, the more complicated the Whole Sort Of General Mish Mash gets, and whatnot) but I still wish they had guy-dolls without bulging muscles, and girl-dolls without teensy waists. But then, I always was a dangerous radical freethinker! *plots the overthrow of the government using approximately 5,000,000 cans of EZ Cheez*

I took a look see at the page and there's no way I could accurately represent me. The head wasn't bad. I just took one with a hat covering it. But I don't even own anything that looks even vaguely like one of the tops. And I wouldn't be caught dead wearing a pair of those ridiculus looking pants!
