Mmm, tummyache.

I now have exactly 42 LJ friends. Congrats,
ohamsie.
On the subject of geek ness (see post below), don't try to tell me that people DON'T stereotype me based on how I look... today in theatre class we got our midterm back, and we discussed it both in terms of grading of this specific test, and in terms of general grading/preparation practices. I piped up and noted that they'd graded me down a point on a question that I had really gotten right. Logan offered to take the test back and re-grade and re-record and adjust my overall score, but I responded (truthfully) that I didn't really need the point.
And so the WHOLE class erupted in that indescribable sound that I'm sure most of you are very familiar with. The sort of "stupid geek! you go squish now!" group-crowd-sound that indicates that those around you are not amused (whether it be at you, or at someone else in the room). I faked a cringe, but at the same time I was realizing that I had pretty much just killed off my chances of making any friends in that class. Saright; semester's half over anyway, and there aren't a lot of terribly cool-seeming people in there.
But then when, five minutes later, another girl -- one who looks very much un-nerdy, I might add -- launched into a minitirade against those who don't pay attention in class, and finished up by saying that she herself didn't even really need to read the book to get good grades on tests and quizzes, what was the response from the class? Silence. None of that shocked/envious/angry/boggling reaction that I got.
Not that I'm upset or anything. It amused me more than anything else. Sociological interactions, up close and personal. Maybe I should major in soc...
