I continue to believe that my chem instructor might once have been Rick in another universe. Today he actually said -- and I have this word-for-word, because I always scribble down amusing quotes dropped by instructors, for no sane reason -- "It's [NI3] a contact explosive. That means if you touch it, it explodes. The first time I made this..."
He also used it against his younger brother once. This guy was nuts.
Now to MiST my email:
Jane Hall has provided her PowerPoint slides (the same slides she would have shown during her Colloquium presentation had the overhead projector been working). The same slides I need in order to write my response essay. I've put them online at the course web site. You will need to have PowerPoint installed on your computer to view them. I don't have PowerPoint. I would have it on my laptop except the farkling college is taking its sweet time getting around to GIVING me the new laptop. There are 13 slides. She has also provided a 5-page essay based on a presentation she made at Irvine on September 15. It helps flesh out the slides which I can't see and should help you recall her presentation. A couple of you have mentioned to me that you found what she had to say very interesting, but it seemed to come at you so fast. Reviewing these materials may be helpful. Yeah, I'll bet it would be.
Le feh.
