I love it!

(oh, come on, don't tell me you've never seen this movie...)

Ugh

Mom and I just looked over my bank balances from the last couple quarters, and came to the conclusion that my dad is ripping me off.

Y'see, he set this thing up where every month he deposits $25 in my bank account, and every month $25 is automagically withdrawn and sent to some mutual fund or other. And that was fine with me, because hey, I've got investments in my name that I don't have to pay a penny for. I've always been a bit suspicious of the setup, but he was always quick to shore up the account with each month's check, so I decided my fears were unfounded.

Yeah, right. My account's now fifty dollars lower than it should be, and fatherly checks are nowhere in sight.

On the surface, this isn't so bad; it's not like *I* use my account, after all. I can't remember the last time I've actually spent money from it. But the thing is, that $300 and change is my family's lifeline. Whenever mom needs to pay the bills NOW even though her paycheck isn't coming till next week, we dip into my account. She repays me once she has the money to do so. And since right now we've got loads of bills, and dad doesn't seem to think he has to pay child support this month either, and I can't let my account go below $200 or else we get fined... we are conceivably in big trouble.

Ah hates bein po'.

Apparently my dad is currently on the phone, and as soon as he's done talking to the boy, he'll start yelling at me to get a job. Doesn't he understand that I'm having enough trouble just mentally recharging myself for yet another semester of being on the brink of losing my scholarship?

Not to mention that he thinks I should have a job during the school year, too. Sure, why not? I always wanted to go to class, then walk to a job, then walk home, and collapse in exhaustion without having any time to do anything resembling schoolwork, and thus flunk out.
