I got a letter from dad today. Included was a check for mom. He notes in the letter that because of what she has 'done to' him (asked him to support his own children? attempted to finish the divorce process, a process HE HIMSELF started years ago?), he no longer wishes to speak to her. So I got to be the one to handle the letter that, on the second page, added "oh, by the way, I have pneumonia! Want some germs? Sure you do! Here, have a bunch!" Well, not literally. But. I washed my hands very thoroughly after reading that letter.

Also in the mail was a letter from Verizon, who provide both our phone service and my sweet sweet broadband. Apparently there's a problem with the credit card they use for billing, and if we don't straighten it out in ten days then we lose phones. Hooray! I'm not sure, but I gather from overhearing a couple of the calls mom made that MSN is still charging us even though we cancelled months ago, and that we're expected to still pay even though our last bill contained no MSN charges whatsoever. Golly gosh, if only it worked that way. "Hi. You don't know me, but you owe me a million bucks on your credit card. Oh, don't bother to check the statement -- it doesn't show up there. Just rest assured, you do owe me money. Pay up."

Today was supposed to be payday, but nobody got paid. Apparently there's a problem with the checks and we don't get them till Thursday. La la la. It's nice not needing to actually support yourself off your paycheck, and therefore being able to shrug and say "nah, I don't mind not getting paid on time".

Yep yep yep.

MUST WATCH GARGOYLES

I ripped these from Gargoyles episodes (don't I keep saying that I'm obsessed?) because I hoped they would amuse others as they did me. The second is the trickster god Raven, casting a little spell to help him out in battle. Gotta love a god who realizes, halfway through a spell, that he sounds like a moron, but decides to forge on anyway.

Of course Puck had him beat six ways to Sunday in the coolness department, but eh. I digress.

Yes.

PH33R TEH FANGIRLOSITY

I think perhaps I should get to work on tomrrow's comic.
Just now I was glancing at the Project Gutenberg text of Peter Pan, because I'd never read it and I was curious to see if I agreed with various opinions held on it by [livejournal.com profile] maboo.

As I read I pondered that, in the story, Peter appeared to be a big stupid JERK. Not at all like the Disney version.

Wait. Wasn't there another animated Peter, perhaps closer to the text?

And then it dawned on me. Hey, yeah, I used to watch that show. I loved it.

Peter Pan and the Pirates. According to a bit of Googlesearching, it was on from 1990-91. Glanced at some captured picatures on various fansites, and, yep, that's it, all right.

Funny how I forget about this thing completely for a decade, and then suddenly it all comes back to me at once. Of course, I want to watch some and CAN'T, but oh well. I've reclaimed another bit of childhood memory. Yay!
