Today; earlier days coming eventually.
Jul. 2nd, 2003 11:13 pmWow, I can update again. Imagine that.
I'll recap previous events later. I have a private post of reminders of things to publicly post about from a while ago, and some other stuff besides, but for now I'll just do today (yesterday by Indy standards but I've still got my computer on Cali time SO THERE) since I'm very tired.
Had orientation today. It was predictably 90% useless and boring. Took math placement test (did quite well, but couldn't test out of the class I need, so it was a waste of my time) and Spanish placement test (no intention of taking Spanish again ever, but you're REQUIRED to take placement test for a language you've taken before EVEN IF YOU DON'T PLAN TO TAKE THE LANGUAGE EVER AGAIN, yes, this makes SO much sense) and then listened to some guy yammer and then hung out for three hours with Uncle Juan from San Jose. Uncle Juan was very helpful in helping me work things out. He's gone back to San Jose to score some more sweet, sweet heroin now, which means I'm stuck with mecha again.
(for the confused, Uncle Juan = mecha. it's a silly joke about how he was my designated family member for some bits of orientation.)
Then advising with an advisor that was on crack or something, who was apathetic, who muttered everything, very plainly didn't want to be there, AND kept getting things WRONG and having to be corrected by Uncle Juan and myself. If not for the fact that we planned carefully beforehand, the misinformation given me by stupidadvisor might've screwed me over, but as it was, I KNEW my stuff and KNEW when he was wrong and corrected him.
Then I went to register, found some class sections I'd wanted were already full, blergeat, but we managed to get it worked out fairly well and I basically could wake up every day at noon if I wanted pretty much. I don't think I'll sleep in THAT late, but. Muchly of the sweet sweet afternoon classes. I don't like early mornings.
One of my classes is on the history of comic book art. Take that. I'm not sure who should be taking it, but... take that. Yes. My other classes are less interesting-sounding.
I'm tired and can't think of anything else of note now.
