Jan. 28th, 2005 03:52 pmYesterday I stayed up for 25 hours straight on five hours sleep. By about 18 hours in I was very, very, very silly. By the end I figured I'd just go to bed 'cause hey, it was 9 at night, I was tired, why not. Even though I could've gone longer. It was weird, actually feeling the exhaustion turn my brain into mush and yet still being quite able to continue.
Today I found a puppy in the parking lot. It was a cute little brown-and-white thing that came up near me when I was tossing the trash in the dumpster, and when I turned it shied away a bit, but then I talked to it a bit and it came up to me and let me pick it up. I had no idea who it belonged to; collar, but no tags. So I took it to the apartment complex office, and they called around a bit but couldn't figure out who it belonged to either, and eventually I left it with them. Poor puppy. I don't tend to like dogs, but this was a good one. It barely squirmed at all while an utter stranger carried it all over the place in the cold. Its owners should be ashamed, letting it get loose and not being out looking for it so that some random person had to find it.
I watched all three Evil Dead movies, two times each, normal and commentary (and AoD an extra time, with mecha), in 24 hours a couple days ago. So now, naturally, I'm working on putting a working Necronomicon into the world of the Sims. They read it, pondering quietly to themselves, losing logic points all the while, and then when they're done they're supposed to ponder a bit and then realize what they've done and begin screaming and thrashing. So far they refuse to ponder before launching into the thrashing, despite the fact that SimAntics is a language of goto calls and the command flow very clearly puts the ponder animation before the thrash ones. It's driving me mad.
I also want them to run away and wash their hands after reading, but they don't seem to want to do that either. I think I need to go look at some toilet code instead of just the globals, maybe there's something there I can use.
