Man. Everywhere I look the last few weeks, some paragon of wit and originality has gotten in another dig against fat people.

It's great for your laughable lack of self-esteem, knowing that so very many others, despite not even knowing you exist, would automatically hate you if they met you based on but one physical characteristic.

Starting to think I should just take a break from all Internet except SocialMUX and IMs. I don't need any more reminders that I am not worthy of basic human respect unless I'm a size small.

Phone tech support with my brother

So once we spend about an hour getting maurice's PPP settings to play nice with AT&T's servers, the talk turns to slightly less important matters.

Scene: brother has no idea how to start an AIM conversation. AIM works fine, he can send messages just fine once someone else starts the conversation, but he can't figure out how to send the first message.

Me: "You just double-click my name [on buddy list window], and a new window will open up. Then just type a message and hit enter."
Him: (very excited) "THAT'S what I wasn't doing! I wasn't typing a message!"
