I HATE YOUR JOY.
May. 21st, 2009 08:56 pmYou can tell I've been watching too much Animaniacs lately, because I have a strong urge to create myself a new default userpic featuring Slappy Squirrel and the text which graces this post as a title. Seriously, that's what she's basically saying in her intro bit. "Ahh, enough with your singin' already" == "I HATE YOUR JOY."
Mecha is very nice! On my birthday I will be at various points between West Virginia and Indianapolis, preparatory to driving from Indy back to Madison on the 28th. I am old, and no longer particularly care much about my birthday with the presents and the cake and the hey-hey, probably in large part because I can have cake any damn time I please on account of being a grownup, and because the things I want tend to be books and CDs which I can also buy any time I damn well please, so why constrain it to fall on one societally-appointed day? So I hadn't even thought about the fact that I'd be out of town on my birthday, and didn't care much when I realized it. I guess mecha cared, though, because today he made me a cake and gave me presents! He even would've had it all ready as a surprise when I came home if I hadn't come home early on account of feeling weirdly and abruptly nauseated around 3:00.
But I got well enough to have cake, so yay.
Now we are going to listen to the Mike Malloy Comedy Hour for a bit, and then perhaps the lovely Electric Amish CD that he bought (the other present is the second Ultimate Edition volume of the Battle Royale manga). Mike Malloy yelled "Jesus, God!" in his second sentence of the night, so it's a good start on the drinking game that is listening to his show. I think I'm gonna need more tea.
