A bit over a year ago, a nice lady named Charlotte Allen had an opinion piece published in the Washington Post. This article was about how women are dumb, based on such facts as that men did better in a study that involved exploring a map in a video game, and on such "facts" as that only women watch Grey's Anatomy. (Or watched past tense, if that show is still on. We no has teevee.) I dissected the fuck out of that article. It was fun!

Now she has an opinion piece published in the LA Times about how atheists are all stupid meanie poopyheads, or something. I haven't read it yet. Maybe I will dissect it too! Apparently she scoffs at the ridiculous notion that an atheist has almost zero chance of getting elected to higher office, because there are after all no laws against such a thing. And if there isn't a law against your demographic group doing something, nothing will prevent you from doing it! Just ask black people, especially in the South! Just ask them whether society can exert such pressure as to keep you from ever doing something, even if the law says it's okay for you to do it! They'll be all "naw, we've disproportionately stuck to the ass-end of the socioeconomic scale throughout this nation's history because we like it there."

On the other hand, I am way rusty on my religious-nut-debating logic, which I might or might not need to properly tear apart her little fishwrapper piece. Tsk. What's a big dumb stupid poopyhead atheist woman to do?
