If I knew how to make a WinAmp skin, I'd make one waaaaay Saturn-y-er than this one.

Of course, I could never improve on this guy's idea for the equalizer window. That is the coolest equalizer EVER.

Ding!

I got the pictures if you ever want to use them :D

Oh, I have plenty of screenshots from the game. I took lots for my moodset, and never deleted them.

I actually took a look at the tutorial for skinmaking, and it doesn't look *too* impossible... just really complicated... I might just give it a shot.

Yeah, but I have actual PICTURES... sprites are all fine and good, and I LOVED EarthBound... but the graphics weren't all that great.

I loved the graphics! that was part of the charm.

Exactly! Adorably pixeltastic. Although it does make them a bit difficult to resize past a certain point, but eh.

For the game--the EarthBound graphics were excellent. They were simple, they were goofy and quirky, and they fit the mood perfectly. But for anything outside of EarthBound, they're not that good at all. Take them outside of the game, they're not part of the silly atmosphere anymore--they're just bad graphics.

And besides... Winamps don't look as pretty if they're just plastered with sprites.

I dunno. Something.

Pfffftt. The graphics just look... bad, by themselves. NES-bad. I'd much rather see the clay models of Mr. Saturn (or better yet, screenshots from Super Smash Brothers Melee :D) than their SNES sprites. Not as the whole winamp; anyway... the sprites would make excellent buttons and the equalizer IS sweet on the old one. But I think actual pictures like I just mentioned would be better for the main image on the Winamp.

Geez, I'm as alone here as when I say that "The Mummy Returns" was a terrible, terrible movie.

I never saw that movie, and I intend to keep it that way.

And I just have a love for the bizarre, which might be why I insist on liking the SNES graphics so much. Although I'd still really really really really like a STUFFED Mr. Saturn...

*owns one*

Er, well, sort of. It was made as a home-ec project by my ex a long time ago. Looks good enough, though; he just sits on my TV.

I've been thinking of making one, but every time I start to ponder it I remember that I need to sew up about a billion snails first. Blech.

Cat meows = not funny.
Snail meows = funny.

Ondine gets excited about lettuce = not funny.
Snail in human form gets excited about lettuce = funny.

Need any more? ;P

That still doesn't explain the black hats, though!

Mr. Saturn kills another Mr. Saturn = not funny.
Mr. Saturn in a black hat = extremely cute.
And the first one actually is pretty funny, come to think of it.

I'm sure I had a point, but it couldn't have been important.

The Mr. Saturn skin made my computer crash twice. I blame the skin because I've never before had a problem with WinAmp crashing, but the only things different about tonight were a) the skin (usually I just use the base skin, though I have a few video game ones) and b) I was listening to my friend's CD for the first time. Somehow I don't think the second was a likely cause.

I've had CDs crash WinAmp and bring down the whole computer, but very rarely. If it was the skin, well... it's not the best skin on earth, so you're not missing much. It's just really cute is all.

CDs can do that? Perhaps I was a tad too hasty to simply blame the skin. For the most part, though, I don't really like skins, as I'm not familiar enough with WinAmp to remember which buttons do what unless they're clearly labeled.

Most skins suck anyway. The buttons are impossible to read and there's waaaay too much clutter, or they take the opposite tack and have giant buttons that run into each other. Or they add transparencies which means you keep clicking on stuff BEHIND WinAmp.... blech.
