Earlier today I perused an Elfwood gallery or two, out of boredom and poinginess at the pretty pictures. And they were, indeed, very pretty pictures, of mermaids and fairies and things... but I noticed something about all the pretty pictures, something I've been noticing about that sort of art for some time now.

There aren't enough fat fairies.

I, therefore, have done my small part to rectify this.

A fairy. Sitting. In the rain. Her feet are rather mutated because I don't do feet. The picture as a whole isn't great, seeing as I delve into fantasy art very very rarely, but I'm still rather happy with it.

And after all, if they're magical, do they really need to worry about being wisp-thin in order to fly properly?

As well you should be happy with it. T'is quite good.

As for the feet, they look very much like feet to me. Me thinketh thou arst thine own worsteth criticith.

...criticth?

Yes, they look like feet, but mutatey feet. The first person who commented on it (not here, obviously, but in conversation in another window) agreed that the toes especially have issues.

And, um, bork.

*groans*

'...criticth?' should be '...criticith?' I can't spell.

ith-ith-ith-ithththththth.... *tic*

I'll have to politely *tic* disagree. I've seen far worse feet.

Pffft. As for the toes' "issues", I think they're just overly paranoid. *tic*

Start an Elfwood gallery! Then we can start a tour on radical faeries. XD

I don't know how much more fantasy-type stuff I'm gonna bother drawing, though... my art style is too cutesy to go with it well.

Yeah! Here's proof! Clumsily-drawn, uncolored, oddly cartoonish proof, but still.

Also check out Liselotte Eriksson (http://www.geekiness.org/leaves/Artwork.htm). She's got lots of faeries who have believable body types, and her faces are all just deliciously wonderful.

I went through all her Elfwood picatures... lovely lovely stuff. Must kill her and eat her brain for the purposes of securing her talent.
