Why the hell did they ban Monster Reborn and Dark Hole for Advanced play? How can you NOT play with Monster Reborn or Dark Hole?

Granted, I don't really need Monster Reborn 'cause there are about a zillion better ways to bring back zombies, but Dark Hole? I need it. Neeeeed.

Maybe I won't be making my deck conform to Advanced after all.

Can Dark Hole do anything useful that Raigeki and Cyber Jar can't?

I also randomly had a neat idea to turn Duel Monsters into Xenocards, at least for Life Point tracking. I may post about that in my journal later today.

Dark Hole just destroys all monsters on the field, instead of just your opponent's like Raigeki, or whatever Cyber Jar does.

I always got why Raigeki would be banned, since it's terribly powerful, but Dark Hole? Geez.

Cyber Jar is one of my favorites. It's a pretty weak monster (900/900, I think) that has the following Flip Effect: Destroy all monsters on each player's field. Then, each player draws five cards from their deck. If any of these cards are four-star or weaker monsters, they're immediately played to the field in either attack or defense position. It's great for buffing up your side if the opponent has more monsters than you do, or eliminating powerful monsters. The only problem is that if it's your opponent's Attack Phase, then that continues, with any monsters he plays in Attack position getting to attack right away.

One of the cards that's saved my bacon against Kaiba's Cyber Stein/Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon combo, although getting Bell of Destruction on the opening draw is choice.
