A Post For Dusties

So I'm thinking of switching to png graphics for the entirety of the sd archives. However, I don't want anyone complaining later that suddenly they cannot see my comics and I am a bad person and it is all my fault. Therefore: poll.
(no, I don't really expect anyone to complain like that, but you never can tell.)
[Poll #486105]
If you don't have an LJ account with which to vote, you can just comment your answer.
And yes, I know that in theory just about everyone should be able to see pngs just fine, what with there being several free-to-download browsers that support the filetype. However, I also know that in theory everyone should be able to have broadband these days -- but A) where my roommate's sister lived until last fall, no company would offer broadband; B) many people still cannot really afford to pay for it; C) some poor bastards are like me and have the choice between Company A with a months-long work slowdown that keeps them from taking on new customers (and that they don't actually bother to tell you about till it's been five weeks and you ask them why you haven't gotten your modem yet), and Company B where it is a known issue that their DNS server sometimes goes down for hours at a time and where even if you use a different DNS server you still get frequent connectivity death. So there you go.

Date: 2005-05-02 01:54 pm (UTC)I know mechamom, at least, constantly complains about her/Quentin's computer (an elderly Win98 beast that for years the only way you can turn it on is to poke the hole where the power button used to be with a stick... no, seriously), yet refuses to upgrade. Granted, that is her own fault, but still.

While it'll still be picture-perfect under PNG, "noisy" pictures tend to get rather big in size. Something I learned the hard way over time. Flat colors, though, should be excellent.

(they are not saved to the sd site yet because I do not want people going and looking ahead at them all.)
