I read that in some states they're being forced to do their jobs, but not others yet. Of course, I did not research too deeply, because I was too busy ranting and/or making voodoo dolls of basketball fans.
There is also the matter of pharmacies in hospitals like the Catholic one down the road, where they won't give medicines or do procedures they don't like, but that gets into more gray areas of private business vs public moneys and blah blah blah. All that takes more thinking than I feel like doing right now.
He actually said "I'm sorry"? I poked around and could only find him saying "I am responsible" and "if there is blame it is mine" and stuff. And yeah, one beer != drunk, but first they said there was no alcohol served AT ALL, and then later amended it to say "okay so there was a beer at lunch leave us alone about it". That's kind of suspicious and makes one wonder whether it's REALLY the true story now, or whether they're going to change it again. Especially given that the cops were kept from investigating for the first half-day or so. I don't know what Cheney was doing during that time, but waiting to be able to pass a breathalyzer is one possibility!
