I spent about a billion hours today making a new font for myself. It is lovely and just what I wanted and I'm so proud of it. Except that I can't actually use it because it crashes PSP every time I try (to use it antialiased; aliased it works fine, but looks like shit).

Yet again... why do I bother? I mean, really.
From "The Wreck of the Barque 'Lynton' While Bound for Aspinwall, Having on Board 1000 Tons of Coal"

[...]

'Twas then the vessel turned right over, and they were immersed in the sea,
Still the poor souls struggled hard to save their lives, most heroically;
And everyone succeeded in catching hold of the keel garboard streak,
While with cold and fright, their hearts were like to break.

Truly there is no phrase more poetic than "keel garboard streak". Also, it's not really heroic to struggle to save your own life. Especially if saving your own life involves shoving else out of the way so you can grab that ol' keel garboard streak.

In unrelated news, this is adorable.

There is a pile of snow next to where mecha parked the car a few minutes ago, perhaps ten, perhaps fifteen feet high. I climbed to near the top of it and declared myself to be king of the mountain. Then after I slid back down, mecha climbed a bit higher, and so I hopped back up and assumed the very highest position there was.

Mecha claims that he was technically higher than I was, because he'd smashed down the bit that I wound up on, but I think he's wrong. I am the King of the Mountain.

A girl should be able to be a king.
From "Robert Burns":
Your "Tam O'Shanter" is very fine,
Both funny, racy, and divine,
From John O'Groats to Dumfries
All critics consider it to be a masterpiece,
And, also, you have said the same,
Therefore they are not to blame.

A) "both" is for two things only, Billy m'boy. "funny" + "racy" + "divine" != 2.
B) Blame? Why would blame be assigned if critics liked a poem better than the poet himself? I'm confused.
C) Nobody likes my font. Cry.
