There is a pile of snow next to where mecha parked the car a few minutes ago, perhaps ten, perhaps fifteen feet high. I climbed to near the top of it and declared myself to be king of the mountain. Then after I slid back down, mecha climbed a bit higher, and so I hopped back up and assumed the very highest position there was.

Mecha claims that he was technically higher than I was, because he'd smashed down the bit that I wound up on, but I think he's wrong. I am the King of the Mountain.

A girl should be able to be a king.

There were female kings in one of the Xanth books... the people from Mundania were invading Xanth and disabling kings one by one, so the office passed through the hands of most of the royal family, including the princesses. Yet every one of them was a King, and they made a big point about that.
