You can download classical music off AudioGalaxy. Why did I not realize this before?

I was raised on Shostakovich and Mahler. What's someone/something else I can try? Something heavy, something with a lot of energy... sometimes the quiet, gentle stuff is good, but I tend to like my classical to go all out.

Symphonies = really long = really big file size. o_O Whee...

Now you've hit on my field of expertise (and thoroughgoing utter obsession). If I have a field of expertise. Well, let's try well-known... Do you know Sibelius? Nielsen? Elgar? Walton? Britten? Bruckner?

I don't now, but I will after I hit AudioGalaxy up for more stuff tomorrow!

Although considering my queue size, I probably won't get everything downloaded for several days at least. *g*

SHOSTY!!! I love Shosty! I love Symphony No. 5!

If you want all out, try Corigliano's "Tarantella" (can't remember the name of the whole symphony) has much energy. Quite spastic, actually.

I saw Tarantella somewhere on the pages of classical-type music I considered downloading... I know it wasn't listed under Corigliano, 'cause I didn't search for Corigliano. I think it was under T... Tsai... the guy who did Nutcracker and Swan Lake and stuff.

I need to relearn how to spell these names.

Tchaikovsky.

For bonus points, spell it in Cyrillic.

Tarantella's also a Spanish/Italian/Portugese/One of them thar Mediterranean countries dance inspired by a tarantula. Corigliano's done the most hyper version of it though.
