Yesterday I was tired as a result of being woken up at 4 in the morning by car-repair-doing neighbors (?!?!), so was looking forward to making it up last night.
Nuh uh. This time at 4 in the morning it isn't neighbors breaking the park rules (no car repair in Rancho Brea, not that it stops them, they're working on that thing all the time), but kitty pawing the kitchen cabinets open a bit and then letting them slam shut. Repeatedly. Keep in mind the kitchen is right outside my bedroom door. Oy. Finally I went out there and opened all the cabinets all the way so he couldn't bang them closed anymore.
Came back into my room, started to get into bed, and my nose started bleeding.
After it finally stopped bleeding, cat started mewling at my door.
I finally dropped back to sleep sometime after 5, 5:15ish.
Then, this morning. Classes la la la ding. Had test last class, finished in six minutes, was outta there and on my way to the CS building by 12:07. At CS dept. I scheduled advisement for next week, for to work out a possible scheduling evil. If I don't get my plan okayed, I have to take a non-degree-getting class next semester just to have enough units to stay full-time. Considering I'm almost literally counting the days till I can flee... nah, not a good thing. We shall see whether I get lucky.
Went to bookstore. They were out of the pencils I use to draw comics, just like last time I checked. They were also out of printer paper save one ripped-open package. I took it. I'm not picky. Got otherstuffs, too, including a couple large manila envelopes, one of which will show up later in this entry.
Got on bus, went to maul. The bus I caught is supposed to get to teh maul four minutes before the connection to the bus that takes me home. Good thing I wasn't planning to catch it, as we were eight minutes late getting to mall.
Went into mall, and... hit stores up for applications. For the very very first time in my entire life.
I tried Waldenbooks and Bath & Body Works first, but there were bunches of customers there, so I figured I'd dip in again after hitting up some other places. Then I tried Icing and the Body Shop(pe?). Both places were hiring for managers only. Eergh. Bad start. Claire's and Discovery Channel Store (which I completely forgot about except I was walking by it today... it would ROCK to work there) both gave me applications even though they're not sure at the moment whether they'll be hiring. And at the Disney Store I got a little thing that is apparently the step BEFORE actually applying.
After this I still had a number of places to check out. However, it was 1:55. And the bus I was planning to catch comes at 2:09. And I was all the way across the maul and halfway across the maul parking lot from the bus kiosk. Heh.
So tomorrow I guess I'll ask mom to take me by the mall again and I'll hit up all the other stores, plus check back with those two botched attempts again (let's see... Waldenbooks, Bath and Body Works, Kay-Bee, Spencer's, Hot Topic, Torrid... I think I'm forgetting someplace... ah, well, I'll probably see it while wandering around...). There's also places in downtown Brea that I can get to on the same bus line that goes to the mall, and I can try applying there. I feel so... options-enabled. I also feel grown-up. I asked for applications. Wow. I even put them in one of those manila envelopes. Remember the envelopes? I told you they'd come up again.
Anyway, zipped to bus kiosk, made it about two, three minutes ahead of bus. Got on, along with about a million other people. That's the crowdedest I've ever seen that bus. Someone had to sit next to me. She smelled like socks. Blech.
Eventually got home, obviously. And then I had to restart the computer a couple times before I could get online at anything over 28.8.
And Clara's SocialMUX ghost just disappeared.
The end.
The post office guy wanted to know where Brea was

Brea is right south of the LA County line, in case you'd like to go back and inform the post office guy of this!
Damn! I spoiled the surprise!
