But at least my problem's fixed now, even if their response to me talks about a completely different problem.
MY EMAIL TO YAHOO
My inbox has developed a glitch since yesterday -- it continually reports one unread message that does not actually exist. I've even emptied the folder completely, and it continues to report itself as containing zero messages, one unread. I've no idea what caused this to happen; at some point I simply went to my inbox expecting to see X unread messages, and found that I only had X-1.
THEIR RESPONSE
Hello,
Thank you for writing to Yahoo! Mail.
We are looking into the problem you have reported. If the used quota percentage seems out of sync with the total space used, try clicking the [Empty] link next to the "Trash" folder link in the left-hand navigation bar. Even if there is nothing in the trash folder, this can bring these two items back into sync. If you try this and continue to experience problems, please let us know by responding to this message.
Thank you again for contacting Yahoo! Customer Care.

Yahoo! Customer Care
