Merrick Legacy, house tour

napoleonherselfI actually wrote up a house tour in between 3.2 and 3.3. So here it is instead of a real update! Suckerrrrs.
General warning: sometimes I swear.
Specific warning: 25 pictures, now with moar pause lines, of the house in what I think is FINALLY its ultimate form, at least until Frieza comes back with his cousins Kenmore and Maytag and we all need to undergo power level inflation again. Spoils the number of kids in gen 3 and their names/some of their appearances but nothing else really.
The front! Still purple, still symmetrical. Symmetry is important. A bunch of bushes on the left are actually Insimenator pieces.
First floor plan...
...and second floor.
There's a small front entryway that leads, on the left, to the living room;
on the right, to the kitchen; and, in the middle (not shown) to a full bathroom.
There's a door at the back of each of those last two rooms that leads to a hall.
Going down the left-hand hall (behind the living room) first, there are fourlightsdoors.
Closest to the living room is the nursery/Knute's room.
Next is a second full bathroom,
Crystal and Tiffany's room (still not redecorated from when it was an office/extra room),
and the elder bedroom (currently unoccupied) at the very back. Not shown here is the door that leads to an ensuite half-bath.
If you go back out to the hall, then right next to the elder bedroom door is a set of stairs leading up. Note the painting -- I had jerkface Derek do a still life of the half-finished thing Hayden left on his easel before he died. It's a statement about the ephemeral nature of life and blah blah blah.
Up the stairs...
...and through the door on the left is the heir bedroom, currently decorated in pink (for Ruthie) and yellow (for jerkface Derek).
Back out on the landing, where in the other direction is the Hall Of Ancestors. Portraits and memorials go here. At the far end is a door leading into a room in the other wing, which we'll visit in a bit.
If you go back downstairs and head toward the door that leads to the living room, to its left is a door to the back porch.
The porch goes the entire width of the house between the wings, running behind the living room and kitchen...
...and comes out in the right hallway, where there are four more doors.
Closest to the kitchen is a three-quarters bath.
Next is the L-shaped play-slash-homework room, which was briefly pressed into service as the triplet boys' bedroom before I expanded the house and made the regular bedrooms big enough for three beds. I still need to allocate some desk space for the second set of triplets.
Then Cassandra's room, which I really should make her share with someone else except the only other reasonable split I can think of just gives Knute his very own full-size room which isn't any fairer.
Finally, at the back of the wing, we have the boy triplets' room.
There are stairs here too!
They lead up to a nice little skilling room. Directly behind the camera is the door that leads back out to the portrait hallway.
Finally, here's a shot from the back of the house, showing some of the stuff I have there, along with the windowless, portrait side of the upstairs hallway. I hadn't noticed before just how asymmetrical the windows are back here, especially upstairs; I may or may not ever fix that.
Oh, and you might've noticed a room in the second-floor plan above the front entryway... it's just an attic space where I stash stuff (a lot of the houses I build have these). Five-slot single-tile tables that don't require expansion packs = YESSSSSSSS.
That's the house! It was a bizarre purple slanty-roofed monstrosity, and then after I expanded it and added that upstairs hallway it became a monstrosity and a half. But I like it, Alot. All it's missing to match my dreams is a white roof, but I haven't found one yet. May have to figure out how to make one myself.
Next time: aliens! Birthdays! Disappointingly attractive children! Old people! More aliens! And a fine sprinkling of blasphemy to top things off. (For real this time.)
